Laci's Story

Hi! My name is Laci, and I'll be one of the individuals moving into the Microhome Village this summer. I'm looking forward to a fresh start and being closer to Life Quest, which will make it much easier for me to come and go as I please. I'm also excited about having additional supports for my daily needs.

I'm originally from Mitchell and have lived in an apartment there since 2005. I'm excited about this move because it will feel like a "new front door" and a place where I can welcome family. I'm especially looking forward to relaxing on my porch and spending time with friends.

Although I officially started at Life Quest in 2005, I actually began in 2003 through a small program called Project skills, which helps people build job skills. It must have made a difference because I've been working at Menards for many years. 

At work, I clean and stock shelves, assist customers, and update shelf prices. I'm flexible and willing to help with any other tasks that need to be done.

My favorite food is pizza. I also enjoy coffee, Christmas, and spending time with my friends Amber and Jodi. I truly appreciate the staff who take the time to get to know me and support me with daily needs. 

Last week, I had the opportunity to visit the houses with others. I even know which one will be mine. The walls are up, and the roofs are ready for shingles. Next, they'll be installing the in-floor heating. 

Thank you so much for your support in helping make this dream a possibility. I'm really looking forward to summer and can't wait for this next chapter to begin!
